Pre-Treatment Steps

  1. Check care instructions on your coveralls. If care label on your coveralls states "dry clean only", take your coveralls to a professional dry cleaner, as home cleaning methods could damage them further.
  2. Test any cleaning products you plan to use on an inconspicuous area of coveralls. Make sure coveralls are damp and rub a small amount of product gently into the fabric. Wait a few minutes, then check for any discoloration or other damage.
  3. If you plan to machine wash the coveralls, turn them inside out and fasten all zippers and buttons so that nothing catches on the fabric during the washing cycle.

Removing the Stain

  1. Apply a small amount of mild liquid detergent directly to stained area. Work it in gently with your fingers and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. Rinse the stained area thoroughly with cold water. Use a soft brush if necessary. Do not scrub.
  3. Apply a small amount of enzyme-based stain remover on the stained area and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Follow the instructions on the product label.
  4. Rinse the area again with cold water and check if the stain is still visible. If yes, repeat the steps until the stain is gone.

Post-Treatment Steps

  1. Once the stain is gone, place the coveralls in the washer and select a normal cycle with cold water. Make sure to use a detergent designed for colorfastness.
  2. Dry the coveralls as you normally would, either in dryer or air-drying.
