  • Powdered detergent
  • Baking soda
  • Stain remover
  • Soft-bristle brush
  • Clean sponge
  • Cold water

Steps for Cleaning Medicine Stains from Cotton

  1. Mix one tablespoon of powdered detergent into two cups of cold water.
  2. Using a soft-bristle brush, apply the solution to the affected area and allow it to soak in for 15 minutes.
  3. Rinse with cold water and then with warm water.
  4. Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda onto stain.
  5. Gently rub the baking soda into the affected area with a clean sponge.
  6. Rinse the garment with cool water, then launder as normal.
  7. If the stain does not come out after laundering, repeat steps 1-4.
  8. As a last resort, apply a commercial stain remover directly to the fabric and allow it to sit for 10 minutes, then launder as normal.
