The best approach for removing medicine stains from chambray is to pre-treat the fabric before laundering. Soak the stained area in cool water for about 15 minutes until stain loosens. Then, blot the fabric with a clean cloth or paper towel to absorb excess moisture.
If the stain persists, you can try using a few home remedies to help remove it. You can mix one tablespoon of white vinegar, liquid laundry detergent and warm water in a bowl and use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub the stained area. Alternatively, you can also apply a few drops of rubbing alcohol directly onto the medicine stain and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing it out with cold water.
If home remedies don't do the trick, you can opt for a commercial stain remover. Be sure to read the instructions carefully before applying it to fabric. You can also pre-test the product on a small inconspicuous area to ensure that it won't damage the fabric. Once you've applied the stain remover, you can rinse it off completely with cold water and then launder the item.
Once you've successfully removed the medicine stain, you'll want to make sure that you care for your chambray properly. Wash the item on a gentle cycle in cold water. And when it comes time to dry, lay item flat instead of using a dryer. This will prevent fabric from shrinking or fading over time.
