Step 1: Pre-Soak the Stain

In a sink or basin, combine one teaspoon of mild detergent, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of warm water. Soak the stained area in the mixture for up to 15 minutes.

Step 2: Wash Cashmere

After soaking, use a clean cloth to blot off any excess liquid from the cashmere. Then, hand-wash it in lukewarm water with an enzyme-based detergent and rinse it in cold water. Be sure to avoid rubbing, scrubbing, or wringing fabric, as this can cause damage.

Step 3: Dry the Cashmere

Once the cashmere is clean, lay it flat on a towel and gently press out excess moisture. Place another towel over the top and roll the cashmere up in the towels to help absorb more liquid. Leave the towels in place until the cashmere is completely dry.

FAQ

How often should I wash my cashmere after a medical accident?

It's best to clean cashmere as soon as possible after a medical accident, as the longer you wait, the easier it will be for the stain to set in.

Can I put my cashmere in the washing machine?

No, cashmere is too delicate to put in a washing machine. To avoid damaging your sweater, always hand-wash it using the steps outlined above.
