Ingredients and Supplies Needed
- Warm water
- Dish soap
- Blotting paper or a clean white cloth
- Denatured alcohol
- Vinegar
Instructions
- Mix warm water and dish soap in a bowl. The ratio should be one part soap for every two parts water. Dip the blotting paper or cloth into the mixture and gently blot the stained area until the stain has been removed.
- If stain is still present afterwards, add two tablespoons of denatured alcohol to the soapy mixture. Using the blotting paper or cloth, dab the stained area repeatedly until the stain is gone.
- If the stain persists, mix together one tablespoon of vinegar with one cup of warm water, and pour the solution onto the affected area. Allow the fabric to sit for a few minutes, then dab the area with a damp cloth. This will prevent the vinegar from discoloring the canvas.
- Let the canvas air dry. Do not place it in the dryer, as this could potentially set the stain. Once it is fully dry, inspect area to make sure stain is gone.
