What You Need
- A clean white cloth or paper towel
- Cold water
- Mild detergent
- White vinegar
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Rubbing alcohol
Step-By-Step Instructions
- Using a clean white cloth or paper towel, carefully blot the affected area to absorb as much of stain as possible.
- Rinse the fabric in cold water, using a gentle rubbing motion if necessary.
- If the stain persists, apply a small amount of mild detergent to the area and allow it to sit for a few minutes.
- Blot the area again with a clean, damp cloth.
- If the stain is still present, mix together equal parts white vinegar and cold water and apply it to stain. Blot the area and rinse with cold water.
- For difficult stains, try treating the area with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and cold water. Allow mixture to sit on the stain for a few minutes before rinsing with cold water.
- If the stain still won’t come out, try treating it with rubbing alcohol and water in equal parts. Allow the mixture to sit for a few minutes before blotting and rinsing with cold water.
Additional Tips
- Always test all cleaning solutions on a small, hidden area of the garment first.
- If the stain persists, do not use chlorine bleach or other harsher chemicals as they may discolor the fabric.
- Air-dry item or use a low heat setting on your dryer.
