Instructions:
- Identify the stained area. Check the tag of your ball gown for care instructions before you begin tackling the stain. Never use hot water on a red or pink stain as it can set the stain.
- Gently brush away any excess medicine or debris. Be careful not to rub the fabric too harshly or else you may spread stain further.
- Treat the stained area with a stain remover. Coat stain in a pre-treatment solution and let it sit for 15 minutes. Use a clean cloth to gently scrub stain reminder away.
- Rinse the treated area with cold water. You may want to rinse the area a few times to make sure no stain remover is left in the fabric. Otherwise, it can cause discoloration.
- If stain persists, repeat steps 3 and 4 until stain is gone.
- Air dry the ball gown or lay it flat on a clean towel. To speed up drying time, you can blot the stained area with a dry cloth.
Tips:
- As soon as you notice a spot on your ball gown, act fast! The longer you leave the stain untreated, the more difficult it will be to remove.
- Be sure to check the garment's care instructions before attempting to clean the stain. Some fabrics are more delicate than others and require special care.
- Always work from the outside of the stain inwards. This will help prevent the stain from spreading.
Warnings:
- Do not use bleach or other harsh chemicals on ball gown as it can damage the fabric.
- Do not machine wash or tumble dry the ball gown. It is best to take it to a professional cleaner.
- Do not iron the stained area as this can cause the stain to set into the fabric.
