Angora is a beautiful, lightweight fabric perfect for sweaters and other garments. But it requires special care when it comes to cleaning, especially when removing medicine stains. Fortunately, with the right approach, you can restore your Angora clothing and make it look as good as new!
Medicine spills can cause permanent damage to Angora if not treated immediately. If your Angora has been stained by medicine, the first step is to rinse the item in cold water. This will help prevent the stain from setting in and becoming permanent. Make sure you use cold water only, as warm or hot water may cause the stain to spread.
Once you have rinsed the garment, try to blot away any excess medicine with a paper towel. If the medicine has been spilled on areas where the fabric is more delicate, such as on a lace pattern, use a cotton swab instead of a paper towel. Be careful not to rub at the stain, as this could cause it to spread.
Once the excess medicine has been removed, it’s time to treat the stain. Soak the item in cold water with a gentle detergent for up to 30 minutes, then rinse it again in cold water. After that, you can apply a stain-removing solution directly to affected area. Let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off in cold water.
For tougher stains, combine a paste of equal parts laundry detergent and warm water, and apply it directly to the stain. Gently rub paste onto the stain and let it sit for several hours before wiping it off and rinsing the item in cold water.
Finally, it’s time to dry the garment. Lay the item on a flat surface and allow it to air dry. Do not place it in the dryer, as heat can cause medicine stains to set permanently.
