Taking care of our precious abayas is an important part of maintaining their beauty and keeping them looking like new. One thing many of us do not consider is how to safely remove medicine stains from an abaya.

One common way to clean medicine stains is to use a diluted solution of laundry detergent and warm water. Start by mixing one cup of detergent with two cups of warm water in a bowl. Submerge the stained area in the solution and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Once the time has elapsed, use a toothbrush or soft-bristled brush to scrub the stain for about three minutes.
After scrubbing the stain, rinse it off using cold water. You may need to repeat this process several times to ensure that all of the detergent has been removed from the fabric. Once detergent has been removed, your abaya is ready to be washed again.
Another method to remove medicine stains from an abaya is to use a homemade paste. Start by mixing one tablespoon of baking soda with two tablespoons of white vinegar. Apply mixture to the medicine stain and allow it to sit for five minutes. After the five minutes have passed, use a damp rag to wipe away the paste.
If the stain is still present, repeat the process until the stain has been successfully removed. Once stain is gone, you can put the abaya in washing machine as normal.
No matter which method you choose, it is important to remember to never put an abaya in the dryer until you are certain that all stains have been successfully removed. Not only will putting an abaya in dryer before the stains are gone set them permanently, but it will also damage the fabric of the abaya.
