If possible, immediately take the affected garment off and place it on a flat surface. Use a clean, white cloth to dab away any excess mayonnaise from the fabric. Blot the stain gently – do not rub it in any further!
Pour a small amount of conditioner onto the mayo-stained area of the fabric, enough to cover it completely. Leave it to soak in for 5-10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cold water.
Put the garment in the washing machine and select the hottest water temperature that’s suitable for the fabric. Add a tablespoon of laundry detergent or a specifically designed stain remover if you have one. Run the cycle as normal.
Once the cycle has finished, leave the item out to air dry. Once it is completely free of moisture, check area. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps two and three until it is removed.
Mayonnaise stains can be tricky to remove. But by following these simple steps, you can easily and effectively tackle these pesky marks from your workwear.
