Step 1: Blot stain with a paper towel to absorb as much of mayonnaise as possible. Do not rub the paper towel because this may spread the stain instead of removing it.
Step 2: Make a solution of warm water and mild detergent. Dip a soft cloth in the solution and wring out the excess water. Use the cloth to blot stained area; use a gentle back-and-forth motion to remove stain.
Step 3: Rinse the area by blotting it with a damp cloth. Dry the area with a dry cloth.
Step 4: If the stain persists, mix a solution of white vinegar and warm water. Again, dip a cloth in the solution and blot the stained area. This should help remove any remaining stains.
Step 5: Rinse the area with a damp cloth, then dry with a dry cloth.
Step 6: If stain still remains, you may need to call a professional wallpaper cleaner to remove it.
With just a few steps and some elbow grease, you can remove stubborn mayonnaise stains from your wallpaper and keep it looking like new.
