Mayonnaise is one of those foods that can be an absolute nightmare to remove from clothing— especially when it comes to white uniforms. But fear not! Here are some simple tips and tricks to help get those pesky mayo stains out quickly and easily.
Before attempting to remove your mayo stain, you'll want to pre-treat the area with a little bit of liquid detergent and lukewarm water. Simply mix a few drops of detergent with water in a cup or bowl and gently dab the solution onto the stain with a cloth. This should loosen up the mayonnaise so that when you move onto the next step, the stain will be much easier to remove.
Once you've pre-treated the area, fill a bucket or sink with lukewarm water and a few tablespoons of laundry detergent. Submerge the stained area into water and let it soak for at least 30 minutes. After that, gently rub the fabric together to loosen up the mayonnaise. Once you've done that, rinse the fabric in cold water and repeat the process a few more times if necessary.
After you've removed as much of the mayonnaise as possible, it's time to let your uniform air dry. Make sure the garment is completely dry before placing it in your dryer. If there are still traces of mayonnaise stain, put uniform in the dryer on the low heat setting for about 10-15 minutes. This should do the trick!
