Step 1: Blot the Stain

As soon as you notice the mayo stain, take a clean cloth or paper towel and gently blot affected area. Don't scrub or rub, instead try to absorb or dab up as much of the liquid as possible.

Step 2: Apply Shampoo

Take a small amount of shampoo and rub it into the stained area using your fingertips. If the stain is especially stubborn, you can also use a brush to help lift it out. Let the shampoo sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.

Step 3: Dab With Vinegar Solution

Mix two parts water with one part white vinegar in a bowl and then dip a clean cloth into the solution. Gently dab the stained area with the cloth, being careful not to rub or scrub. Rinse the area with cold water and then repeat the process until the stain has gone.

Step 4: Pretreat with Liquid Detergent

If the stain still hasn't gone away, pretreat the area with a liquid detergent. Gently rub the detergent into spot and then let it sit for a few minutes. Rinse the area with cold water and then check to see if the stain is gone.

Step 5: Repeat or Wash in Machine

After pretreating the stain with liquid detergent, repeat steps 1-4 until all traces of the mayo stain have been removed. If the stain still won't budge, machine wash the item of clothing on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent.

Conclusion

Removing mayonnaise stains from a tuxedo can be tricky, but with right methods it doesn't have to be. Follow the above steps and you should have no trouble cleaning those pesky mayo marks quickly and easily!
