The first thing you need to do when tackling mayo stains on skirts is to scrape off as much of excess mayonnaise as possible. Use a dull knife or spoon to pick away solid chunks if they don’t come off easily. If the mayonnaise has already dried on skirt, you might need to wet the stain with warm water and then try to scrape off any remaining bits.

Once you’ve removed as much of the excess mayonnaise as possible, it's time to begin the cleaning process. Start by blotting the stain with a clean cloth until it's just barely dampened, but still visible.

If you’re dealing with a fresh stain, using a mix of dish soap and warm water should be able to take care of rest. Put a few drops of dish soap into a bowl of warm water and mix it together thoroughly. Then, use a clean cloth to dab at the stain, gently working the solution into the fabric.

If the stain is particularly stubborn, you may need to pretreat the area with an enzyme cleaner before putting it in the washing machine. To do this, apply a generous amount of enzyme cleaner directly to the stain and let it sit for at least 15 minutes before washing.

For best results, always check the care instructions on the skirt before washing so you know which settings to use. Wash skirt using the hottest water and detergent according to the care label and make sure to double check stain prior to drying.

With these mayonnaise stain removal tips, you can ensure that your skirts will be free from pesky mayo stains in no time!
