The first step when removing any stain from fabric is to blot affected area with a soft, dry cloth. Taking care to avoid rubbing the fabric, which can cause further damage, blot stain until it begins to lighten.
Once the stain has been blotted, it’s time to treat the area with white vinegar. Pour a small amount on to the stained area, then gently rub the solution into the fabric in slow, circular motions. After the vinegar and fabric have been combined, allow the mixture to sit for several minutes before continuing to step 3.
Using a mild liquid detergent, create a mix of 1 part detergent and 4 parts water. Once the mixture is complete, dip a soft cloth into the solution. Gently rub the detergent onto the stained area, taking care not to rub too hard. After several minutes of rubbing, blot the area with a dry cloth to remove the excess detergent.
After the detergent has been applied, soak the area with cold water to rinse away all traces of the detergent. Blot the area with a dry cloth, and let the fabric air dry. Once the fabric is completely dry, the mayonnaise stain will be gone!
