What You'll Need

  • Cold Water
  • Mild Detergent
  • Ammonia
  • White Vinegar
  • Access to a Washer

Instructions

  1. As soon as possible, rinse stained area with cold water and blot the area with a clean cloth.
  2. Mix a solution of one teaspoon of mild detergent and one cup of warm water.
  3. Using a clean cloth, apply the cleaning solution to stained area. Work in small circles to work the solution into the fabric.
  4. Rinse the stained area with cold water to remove the cleaning solution.
  5. If stain still remains, try soaking the item in a mixture of one quart of warm water and two tablespoons of ammonia. Leave item to soak for 30 minutes, then rinse out with cold water.
  6. If the stain persists, mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of warm water. Apply this solution to the stained area and leave to sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water.
  7. Launder the item according to its care instructions and inspect for any remaining stains.
