The first step is to rinse the area with cold water. This will help to flush out some of the mayonnaise and prevent it from sinking further into the fabric. Be sure to use cold water on silk chiffon, as hot water can cause the silk to shrink.

After rinsing the affected area, treat it with a pre-wash stain remover. Ideally, you should purchase a product specifically designed for removing mayonnaise stains, which will help to lift the grease from fabric. However, any pre-wash stain remover should work in a pinch. Apply a generous amount of solution to the stain and allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes.

Once the solution has had time to work its magic, give the area a good rinse and then launder garment as usual (without drying it). If the stain doesn't come out completely, repeat the steps above until it's gone.

For tough mayonnaise stains, the process can be slightly different. Soak stained area in a solution of two tablespoons of dishwashing detergent and one tablespoon of white vinegar mixed in a gallon of warm water. Let the area soak for up to an hour before laundering as usual.

By following these simple steps, you should be able to easily remove mayonnaise stains from your silk chiffon fabrics. With the right approach, you can revive your clothes and enjoy them for many more years to come.
