- Mild laundry detergent
- White vinegar
- Ammonia
- Washcloth
- Towel
Steps for Removing Mayonnaise from Silk Charmeuse
- Rinse the stain with cold water, then apply a small amount of mild laundry detergent directly onto the stain.
- Using a damp washcloth and warm water, rub detergent into the stain in a circular motion.
- Rinse the area with cold water.
- Mix one teaspoon of white vinegar with two cups of cold water.
- Dip washcloth into solution and dab stain again. Rubbing in a small circle will help to remove the stain.
- Rinse the area with cold water.
- If the stain still remains, mix one teaspoon of ammonia with two cups of cold water. Again, dab stain with the cloth, and rinse with cold water.
- Blot stain with a dry towel until all the liquid is gone.
