When it comes to removing mayonnaise stains on seersucker, you first need to act quickly. Blot the spot with a clean cloth to absorb as much of the mayonnaise as possible. Do not rub the fabric as this can cause the stain to spread.
Next, create a cleaning solution by combining one tablespoon of liquid dish soap, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of lukewarm water.
Soak a clean cloth in the mixture and press it onto spot to help draw the mayonnaise out. Don't rub too hard as this may damage the delicate fabric. Instead, blot the spot until it lifts away.
If the stain is proving stubborn, rinse area with lukewarm water then apply a small amount of stain-removing pre-treatment directly to area. This should help to break down greasy mayonnaise. After letting it sit for five minutes, rinse spot again and dab it dry.
Finally, if there is a discoloration left on the fabric, try soaking the item in a mixture of one part white vinegar to four parts cold water. This should help to brighten fabric and get rid of any lingering traces of mayonnaise stain.
With these easy steps, you can say goodbye to mayonnaise stains on seersucker for good!
