Materials Needed

  • Cold water
  • Liquid detergent
  • Ammonia solution
  • Soft cloth
  • Mild dishwashing soap

Step 1: Gently Blot Excess Sauce

Using a soft cloth or paper towel, gently blot the area of the stain. Don’t rub or scrub, as this could cause the stain to spread or spread further into the fabric.

Step 2: Pre-Treat with Liquid Detergent

Mix a small amount of liquid detergent with cold water and apply directly to the stain. Gently rub mixture in a circular motion until the stain starts to break up. Allow the mixture to sit for approximately 15 minutes.

Step 3: Apply Ammonia Solution

Mix a small amount of ammonia solution with a mild dishwashing soap to create a paste. Apply the paste to the stain and allow it to sit for at least 10 minutes. Once the paste has dried, gently brush away the paste using a soft cloth.

Step 4: Wash in Cold Water

Place the garment in cold water and let it soak for about 30 minutes. Then rinse the item in cold water and allow it to air dry.

Conclusion

Removing mayonnaise stains from your sari doesn't have to be difficult! With the right materials and a few simple steps, you can have your sari looking good as new in no time.
