Mayonnaise is delicious added to sandwiches, salads, and sauces, but it doesn’t always have the most pleasant look when it gets on your pots and pans. Fortunately, there are a few tricks you can use to make sure you can easily get rid of any mayonnaise mess.

Step 1: Soaking Pot or Pan

The first step to cleaning mayonnaise stains from your cookware is to soak it. Fill the pot or pan with water and let it sit for at least an hour. The mayonnaise should soften up, making it easier to clean off.

Step 2: Scrubbing with Baking Soda and Vinegar

After the pot or pan has been soaking for an hour or two, drain water and add a tablespoon of baking soda to the bottom of the pan. Then, take a paper towel or cloth and dab white vinegar onto the mayonnaise stains. Scrub the mixture into surface with a sponge or brush and then rinse off with warm water.

Step 3: Using a Grease-Cutting Detergent

If baking soda and vinegar isn’t enough to get rid of mayonnaise stains, try using a grease-cutting detergent. Spray some directly on the stains and let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing with a sponge or brush. After that, you can rinse off the detergent with warm water.

Step 4: Polishing the Surface

Once all the mayonnaise is gone, it’s time to shine up the pot or pan! Just rub a dab of cooking oil onto surface and buff it with a clean cloth. This will not only help make the cookware look nice and new again but also help prevent future stains.

Conclusion

While mayonnaise can make a mess on your pots and pans, it’s not impossible to get it off. All you need is a bit of elbow grease and the right cleaning supplies and you’ll be able to get rid of stubborn mayonnaise stains in no time.
