Whether you got a little bit of mayonnaise on your favorite shirt while devouring a delicious sandwich or you accidentally dropped a dollop onto your favorite pants, we know that mayonnaise stains can be tricky to remove. Fortunately, with the right approach, it is possible to remove them from poplin fabric.
What You'll Need
- Water
- Dish soap
- White vinegar
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Baking soda
- Soft cloths
Removing the Stain
- Dampen the stained area with cold water using a soft cloth.
- Mix together one teaspoon of dish soap and two cups of cold water in a bowl. Soak a clean cloth in mixture.
- Gently rub the soapy cloth into stained area. Rinse the affected area with cold water.
- Mix two tablespoons of white vinegar, one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide and one tablespoon of baking soda in a bowl. Apply the mixture to the stained area with a soft cloth and lightly rub the stain.
- Rinse the area with cold water, then blot it with a dry cloth to absorb any excess moisture.
- If the stain persists, repeat Steps 3 and 4 until the stain is completely removed.
