What You Need:

  • Ammonia
  • Bucket of cold water
  • Washing powder
  • White cloth

Step 1: Remove the Excess Mayonnaise

Use a spoon or a knife to remove any excess mayonnaise and as much of the stain as possible. Take care not to spread the stain further when removing it.

Step 2: Treat Stain with Ammonia

Create a solution of one part ammonia and four parts cold water in a bucket. Soak a white cloth in the solution and then lay it over the mayonnaise stain. Make sure that the entire stained area is covered by the cloth. Let sit for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Wash the Poncho

After the 15 minutes has passed, put poncho in the washing machine and run it on a gentle cycle using cold water. Add a tablespoon of washing powder to the load, and run the cycle until the poncho is clean.

Step 4: Check the Stain

After the washing machine cycle is complete, remove the poncho and check stain to see if it is still visible. If the stain hasn't disappeared entirely, repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the stain is gone.

Conclusion

With these simple steps, you'll be able to easily remove mayonnaise stains from your poncho. It may take a few tries to get the stain out completely, but with patience and perseverance, you'll be able to enjoy your stain-free clothing in no time!
