Step-By-Step Guide
- Take the polo shirt and turn it inside out. Put it in your sink and add a few drops of dish soap directly onto the stain.
- Using a sponge or clean cloth, gently rub the soap into the mayonnaise stain. Don’t scrub too hard; you don’t want to damage the polo shirt.
- Run cold water through the polo shirt in sink to rinse out the soapy mixture.
- Mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water. Use a clean cloth to apply the vinegar mixture directly to the stain.
- Rinse the shirt off with cold water so vinegar solution gets completely removed.
- Sprinkle baking soda on the remaining stain. Let the baking soda sit on the stain for 15-20 minutes before washing the polo shirt.
- Put the shirt in the washing machine on a low temperature setting. Add your regular detergent to give the shirt a good overall wash.
- Once cycle has finished, check the stain to see if it’s been removed. If not, repeat the process until the stain is gone.
