Step 1: Blot the Stain
The first step is to act promptly after the mayonnaise has been spilled on the bed. Use a paper towel or a soft cloth to blot up as much of the mayonnaise as possible. If the stain is fresh, then you should be able to remove a lot of it this way.
Step 2: Soak the Stain
Once the excess mayonnaise has been removed with the paper towel or cloth, it is time to soak the stain. Mix one tablespoon of liquid laundry detergent with two cups of cold water in a spray bottle. Shake mixture well. Spray the stained portion of the pet bed with the mixture and leave it for 15 minutes. The detergent will break down oil in mayonnaise and make it much easier to remove.
Step 3: Remove the Stain
After the stain has soaked for 15 minutes, use a cloth to scrub away the mayonnaise. Use a clean part of the cloth if it becomes too dirty as you are scrubbing. Once the mayonnaise has been removed, rinse the area with cold water and let bed dry completely before putting it back in use.
