Steps for Removing a Mayonnaise Stain from Your Pajamas
- Check for instructions on the pajama label. Some fabrics may require special or delicate cleaning processes. Follow the instructions listed on the tag to avoid damaging the clothing.
- Begin by gently blotting with a paper towel or old cloth, working from outside of the stain inward. Do not rub or scrub the material.
- If there is any solid mayonnaise still visible, scrape it off with a dull knife or spoon.
- Pour some liquid detergent onto stained area and work it into the fabric with your fingers.
- Rinse affected area with cold water. This will help lift away some of the stain.
- Repeat steps 3-5 until stain is gone.
- If necessary, make a paste with baking soda and water and gently rub it over the mayonnaise stain. Let the paste sit on the stain for 10 minutes before rinsing it away.
- Check affected area for any remaining stains. If necessary, cover the stain with a few drops of white vinegar or a few spritzes of lemon juice.
- Allow the vinegar or lemon juice to sit for a few minutes before adding a few drops of dish soap. Work soap into the fabric with your fingertips.
- Rinse with cold water again, working from the outside of the stain toward the center.
- Dab the area with a dry cloth and allow it to air dry.
