Whether it's due to a sneaky picnic lunch or an accidental dabble of condiment, no one wants to pull on their favorite one-piece swimsuit only to find it’s been stained with mayonnaise. But don’t worry! Removing a mayonnaise stain from a one-piece swimsuit doesn’t have to be difficult. Here are some tips on how to clean and restore your favorite swimwear.
It’s important to act quickly when it comes to removing a mayo stain from a one-piece swimsuit. Blot away any excess liquid and then try to wash the suit as soon as possible. Soak the swimsuit in lukewarm water with some mild soap for about 10 minutes. Rinse out the soap and repeat, if necessary.
To really get the mayo out of your one-piece swimsuit, you need to pre-treat stain with baking soda and vinegar. Make a paste with a few teaspoons of baking soda and a splash of white vinegar. Rub this paste on the affected area and let it sit for a few minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water.
Once the stain has been pre-treated, it’s time to wash the swimsuit again. Use cold water and mild detergent, and let the swimsuit soak for 10 minutes. Rinse out the suit and allow to air-dry on a flat surface. Do not dry the swimsuit in a dryer.
After one-piece swimsuit is dry, examine the fabric for any remaining stain. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps 2 and 3 until the mayo stain is completely gone.
By following these simple steps, you can easily remove mayonnaise stains from your one-piece swimsuit and get it ready for the beach. Happy swimming!
