Removing Mayonnaise Stains from Your Midi Dress

Nothing ruins a look faster than noticeable stains on your clothing. Mayonnaise is one of the messiest culprits when it comes to creating messes on your clothes, but don't worry – it's not impossible to remove.

What You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • Vinegar
  • Baking Soda
  • Cotton Ball or Cloth
  • Old Toothbrush

Instructions

  1. Treat the stain immediately. Before attempting to remove the stain, be sure to blot any excess mayonnaise off fabric with a clean cloth.
  2. Mix a solution of dish soap and vinegar. Mix equal parts of dish soap and white vinegar in a bowl.
  3. Apply the mixture to the stain. Use a cotton ball or clean, white cloth to apply the mixture to the stain. Allow to sit on the stain for several minutes.
  4. Rinse and blot the stain. Rinse the area with cool water and then blot the stain with a clean cloth.
  5. Sprinkle baking soda over the stain. Allow the baking soda to absorb the remaining moisture from the mayonnaise stain.
  6. Brush away the baking soda. To help release the baking soda from the fabric, use an old toothbrush to gently scrub away the baking soda.
  7. Launder the dress. To complete the mayonnaise stain removal process, launder the dress according to the manufacturer's instructions.
