Before you begin cleaning, it is important to test the fabric of the mesh to ensure that cleaner won't discolor or damage it in any way. To do this, mix 1 teaspoon of liquid detergent with ½ cup of water and apply a few drops of this solution to an inconspicuous area of the mesh. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then rinse off with cold water and check for any color changes.
Once you've determined that the fabric won't be damaged by the cleaner, prepare the cleaning solution. Mix together 1 teaspoon of white vinegar and 1 teaspoon of baking soda in a bowl. Add a few drops of liquid detergent to this mixture and stir until all the ingredients are combined.
Take a clean cloth and dampen it with the cleaning solution. Gently rub the stained area of the mesh with the cloth until it is saturated with the solution. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water.
If stain is still visible after rinsing with cold water, try using a laundry pre-treatment spray. Spray the stained area liberally and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse the fabric with cold water again and repeat as necessary until the stain has been completely removed.
With a little determination and the right supplies, you can easily remove mayonnaise stains from mesh fabric. Always remember to test the fabric for discoloration before using any kind of cleaner on it.
