1. Blot Stain with a Towel

When a mayonnaise stain happens, it is important to act fast and blot the stain away with a dry towel. Use a paper towel or white cloth, and press down firmly on the spot. This will help to absorb the mayonnaise and reduce staining.

2. Pre-treat with Detergent

Once you’ve removed as much mayonnaise as possible, use a pre-treatment laundry detergent and work that into the fabric. Product like Tide Pre-Treat are great for pre-treating stains. Leave the detergent on the fabric for a few minutes before machine washing.

3. Choose Right Detergent for Delicates

If your lingerie is delicate, be sure to use a gentle detergent when washing. There are many detergents on the market specifically designed for delicate lingerie and it is important to make sure that the temperature and cycle settings on the washing machine are appropriate for that type of fabric.

4. Allow to Air Dry

Once you have washed your lingerie, it is usually best to let them air dry instead of sticking them in the dryer. This will help to keep the fabric from shrinking, and will also help reduce the risk of the mayonnaise stain setting.

5. Repeat Steps if Necessary

If the stain does not come out after one washing, you may need to repeat the steps above. Try pre-treating again, and then washing on the same cycle but at a slightly lower temperature. You should never use bleach on lingerie, as this can cause discoloration or damage.
