Removing Mayonnaise Stains from Jeans

The first step to removing mayonnaise stains from jeans is to dab the stain with a cloth or paper towel to absorb as much of the mayonnaise as possible. Once you've absorbed as much as you can, wash the affected area with cold water.

Next, create a mixture of liquid laundry detergent and cool water and apply it to the affected area. Allow the mixture to sit on stain for a few minutes before rinsing it away. Repeat this process until the stain has been completely removed.

If the stain remains after you've tried the above method, don't worry. Try applying a pre-wash stain remover to the affected area and soaking the garment in cool water for 30 minutes. Then, launder Levi's as you normally would. If the stain still persists, try soaking the item overnight in a cleaning solution made of 3 parts warm water and 1 part enzyme-based detergent. Then, launder as usual.

Preventing Further Stains

Now that you know how to remove a mayonnaise stain, here are some tips to prevent such an accident from occurring in the future.

  • Always keep condiments away from fabrics.
  • Be aware that mayonnaise is a white sauce and can be very difficult to spot on clothing.
  • Keep hand sanitizer and wet wipes close by to quickly remove spills.

With these tips, you can easily remove mayonnaise stains from your Levi's and avoid similar accidents in the future.
