The first step in cleaning the stain is to act fast. The sooner you act, the easier it will be to remove the stain without damaging fabric. Begin by treating the stain with cold water. Dab a clean white cloth into cold water and gently press the fabric against the spot. Do not rub or scrub fabric as this will damage the fibers and cause stain to spread.

If the spot has already set, you can try soaking the stained area in a solution of baking soda and cold water. For extra stubborn stains, you can also use a small amount of laundry detergent. Soak the fabric for 20 minutes and then rinse.

Afterwards, blot the excess moisture with a dry towel and hang up the jersey to dry. Avoid exposing the jersey to direct sunlight or heat as these can cause permanent discoloration.

If these methods don’t work, try using an enzymatic cleaner. This type of cleaner contains special enzymes that break down organic materials such as grease and food particles. Apply cleaner as directed and then rinse.

Once stain is gone, you can rest easy knowing your jersey is once again looking its best!
