To get started, you’ll need a few simple items that are likely already in your home:
The first step is to dab mayonnaise stain with a damp cloth. Be sure not to rub as this will only make the stain spread. Gently dab until some of mayonnaise is absorbed into cloth.
Once you’ve removed as much mayonnaise as you can with a cloth, it’s time to move on to the white vinegar. Pour a small amount of white vinegar onto the stained area and use a Q-tip to gently scrub away the stain. Allow for the area to soak in the vinegar for a few minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
After you’ve rinsed off the stain, cover the area with a piece of tin foil. The foil will help to absorb any remaining mayonnaise residue. Leave the tin foil in place overnight and then examine the area to see if any additional steps are needed.
If the mayonnaise stain is still visible, then the final step would be to launder the Irish crochet fabric. Make sure to follow the care instructions on the label and use a mild product, such as baby shampoo or a gentle detergent, to remove the stain.
Getting rid of mayonnaise stains from Irish crochet can be a bit of a challenge, but with the right tools and techniques, you can restore the delicate fabric back to its original state. Just remember to work slowly and gently to ensure that fabric remains intact.
