What You'll Need
- Leather cleaner or saddle soap
- Soft cloth
- Hair dryer (optional)
Instructions
- Remove all food residue from the leather using a damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing too hard.
- Apply leather cleaner or saddle soap to the stained area. Make sure to use a clean cloth, as using a dirty one can add dirt to the stain.
- Rub the cleaner into the leather in a circular motion to help lift the stain. Work cleaner into the fibers to break up the stain. Allow the cleaner to sit on material for about 5 minutes before wiping it off.
- Wipe the cleaner off with a damp cloth. If any of the stain remains, repeat steps 2 and 3.
- Once the stain is gone, use a hair dryer to help dry the leather. This will help prevent water stains.
Tips
- Don't scrub too hard when removing food residue and cleaner, as this could damage the leather.
- If mayonnaise stain has been there for awhile, you may need to use a leather conditioner afterwards to restore the shine.
