The best way to start is to soak the stain in warm water. Fill a basin with warm water and let the stained area soak for a few minutes. This will help break up the mayonnaise and make it easier to remove. If the stain has set in, you can add a mild detergent or a bit of baking soda to the water to help loosen it. Once you’ve let the handbag soak, use a cloth or sponge to gently rub away at the stained area.
Once you’ve rubbed away at area, you can try soap and wax. Create a thick paste with a mild soap and melt a small amount of wax in hot water. Massage the soap paste into the stained area, then apply the melted wax to the handbag. Leave wax to dry completely, then use a damp cloth to wipe away the soap and wax. This should help break up the mayonnaise and draw out the stain.
This will help lift stain off the fabric. Make sure to use a weak alcohol such as vodka or rubbing alcohol. Rub the alcohol onto the area with a cotton swab and work it into fabric. You may need to repeat this several times before the stain lifts. Make sure to rinse the fabric with warm water afterwards.
Create a mixture of water and mild detergent. Dip a cloth into the mixture and gently blot the area that's been affected by the mayonnaise. Keep blotting until you can't see any more of the stain. Make sure to use a gentle touch when applying the detergent, and be careful not to press too hard as this could cause the colour of the fabric to fade.
Mix together equal parts vinegar and water, then apply directly to the stained area. Leave the mixture on the fabric for a few minutes, then rinse off with warm water. This should help to get rid of any remaining residue left behind by the mayonnaise.
