The first step is to take a cloth or paper towel and start gently blotting the stained area. This helps to absorb as much of the mayonnaise as possible, preventing it from seeping further into the fabric. Don’t scrub or rub the fabric against itself!
Next, mix a solution of 1 part laundry detergent with 3 parts warm water. Dip a cloth or brush into the solution and apply it directly onto the mayo stains. Let the detergent sit for a few minutes before gently rubbing it into the fabric.
Finally, rinse the affected area with cold water to remove the detergent solution and any remaining mayo residue. To finish up, machine wash the hanbok on a delicate cycle with cold water, or hand wash in a sink if the fabric is too fragile.
With these simple steps you should be able to easily clean mayonnaise stains from hanbok. If you encounter any stubborn stains that don’t come out, consider taking the garment to a dry cleaner for professional cleaning.
