When a drop of mayonnaise lands on a hair tie, the first step is to try and get as much of it off as possible. The best way to do this is to take a paper towel and gently blot the material, transferring the mayonnaise from the hair tie to paper towel. Do not rub or scrub the stained area, as this can cause the stain to spread and penetrate deeper into the hair tie.

Next, you should apply a small amount of laundry detergent directly to stain. Rub the laundry detergent gently into the stained area with your fingers for a few minutes before rinsing the area with lukewarm water. Once you have finished, take a fresh paper towel or cloth and dab it against the area until all of excess moisture is gone.

To complete cleaning process, pour some rubbing alcohol onto a clean cloth and gently rub it onto the stained area. Allow the rubbing alcohol to sit on material for a few minutes before wiping away any remaining residue. This should help to remove almost any remaining traces of mayonnaise.

Finally, be sure to dry the hair tie completely before using it again. Hang the hair tie up in a well-ventilated area and leave it to air dry naturally. If you're in a rush, use a clean cloth to gently pat it dry.

With these easy steps, you can eliminate even the most stubborn mayonnaise stains from hair ties and have that accessory looking fresh and new!
