How to Effortlessly Clean Mayonnaise Stains from Georgette

Georgette fabric is a popular choice for many garments, but it can be easily stained by oily foods like mayonnaise. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy your favorite summer salads without worry. Follow easy steps below and you can have your georgette garment looking as good as new!

What You Need

• Bowl
• Mild detergent solution
• White cloth
• Absorbent towel

Steps to Clean Mayonnaise Stains from Georgette

1. Create a mild detergent solution by mixing a teaspoon of mild detergent (a baby shampoo or dish soap works great) with a cup of cold water in a bowl.
2. Dampen a white cloth in the detergent solution and gently blot the stain.
3. Continue blotting the stained area until all the mayonnaise has been removed.
4. Rinse off the detergent solution with cold water and a clean cloth.
5. Lay a dry absorbent towel on a flat surface and lay the georgette fabric on top, place another towel edge over the stained area and press lightly to absorb excess water.
6. Allow to air dry, away from direct heat or sun.

• Soak the stained area in cold water for fifteen minutes before treating.
• Always start with a mild solution and work your way up to stronger solutions if necessary.
• Always test detergent solution on a hidden part of the fabric before applying.
