Use a blunt knife or a spoon to gently remove as much of the excess mayo from the material as possible.
Soak the stained garment in a mixture of cold water and detergent for about 30 minutes, and then rinse with cold water. If stain remains after rinsing, repeat the soaking process one more time.
Create a paste by combining a tablespoon of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Apply the paste directly to the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before washing. If the stain is particularly bad, repeat this step one or two times.
Once you have treated the stain, put the garment in the washing machine with a mild detergent and lukewarm water, on the delicate cycle. You can also hand wash the garment if preferred.
Air dry the garment, making sure it is not exposed to direct sunlight. To ensure the entire stain is removed, it is important to inspect the garment before putting it in the dryer.
If the stain is still present, apply an enzyme-based stain remover and wash once again. You can also use white vinegar as a last resort, mixed with an equal amount of water, to remove the stain.
And voila! That’s all there is to it. With these simple steps, your Forever 21 garments should be free from mayonnaise stains!
