Start by dabbing the mayonnaise stain with a damp cloth or sponge. Make sure to avoid rubbing and scrubbing area. This could spread the stain further or cause it to become set in the fabric of your flannel. Rinse with cold water and pat dry using another clean cloth.

If the mayonnaise stain still remains, you can make a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water and dab it onto the area. Allow the solution to sit for about ten minutes before rinsing the piece of clothing with warm water and blotting dry with another cloth.

You can also utilize a commercial stain remover solution or pre-treatment solution. Follow directions on the packaging before laundering as normal. Be sure to check the clothing item after washing and drying to make sure the stain has been removed.

If all else fails, take the item to a professional cleaner. Chances are, they will have the expertise to remove a mayonnaise stain from your flannel.
