As soon as you notice the stain, rinse the backside of the fabric with cold water. This will help prevent the mayonnaise from setting in and make it easier to remove the stain.
Using a washcloth, gently massage a small amount of dish soap onto the stain. Rub it into fabric using a circular motion and let it sit for 5-10 minutes before washing.
Fill a bucket or sink with lukewarm water and add a few drops of white vinegar. Place garment into the water and let soak for 10-15 minutes before washing in the machine on a delicate cycle.
After washing, inspect garment for any remaining stains. If any mayonnaise is still present, mix a solution of white vinegar and water and pour it over the area. Let it set for 10 minutes before rubbing lightly with an old toothbrush. If necessary, you can also use a razor blade to scrape off any remaining stains.
Once you're satisfied that all the mayonnaise has been removed, hang the garment to dry in a well-ventilated area. Avoid wrinkles by stretching the fabric as it dries.
