Instead, take a clean cloth and blot the stain gently until the majority of surface liquid has been absorbed.

Step Two: Use a Detergent Solution

Mix one teaspoon of liquid detergent with two cups of cool water in a bowl. Dip a clean cloth or sponge into soapy solution and gently dab the stain. Work from the outside of the stain towards the center in order to prevent stain from spreading. Continue until the entire stain is covered. Let the fabric sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing with cool water.
