The first step is to remove as much of the mayonnaise as possible. This can be done by gently blotting it with a soft cloth and applying warm water. Apply pressure, but be careful not to rub or scrub too hard, as that can cause mayonnaise to spread and could damage fabric.
To make an effective cleaning solution, mix together 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 1 tablespoon of mild liquid detergent, and 1 quart of warm water in a bucket or sink. Use a clean cloth to apply the mixture to the mayonnaise stain. Scrub the area gently and then rinse the fabric with cold water.
If the stain persists, try holding the soiled area under cold running water while scrubbing it with a brush. This method works best if you catch mayonnaise stain quickly. You can also try soaking your capris in a mixture of 1/2 cup of baking soda and two cups of warm water. Let the fabric soak for about 30 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
Afterward, lay the capris out on an absorbent towel until completely dry. If it still looks like the stain is present, you can repeat the process. Once the stain is gone, launder the fabric normally.
