Before getting started, you'll need the following items:
To begin, blot up as much of the mayonnaise as possible with a clean cloth or paper towel. Once that's done, use a pre-treatment solution to help loosen stain. If you don't have any stain remover on hand, you can make your own by combining two tablespoons of dishwashing liquid with one cup of warm water in a spray bottle.
Next, fill a bucket with warm water and add a few drops of detergent. Then, gently submerge stained area until it is completely saturated. Leave for a few minutes and allow the fabric to soak before attempting to clean the stain.
Once the fabric is soaked, use a sponge or cloth to gently rub the stained area in a circular motion. This helps to work the pre-treatment solution into fabric and break down the stain. Continue rubbing until the mayonnaise stain is gone.
When the stain has been removed, rinse fabric thoroughly with cold water. You can either hang the fabric outside to dry or place it in the clothes dryer on low heat.
