The Materials You'll Need
- A clean cloth or paper towels
- Liquid laundry detergent or soap
- Vinegar or lemon juice (optional)
- A brush (optional)
- Warm water
How to Remove Stain
- Scrape any excess mayonnaise off of shoe with back of a spoon, if necessary.
- Using the damp cloth or paper towel, wipe the area with soap and warm water.
- Rinse with water and blot the area dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
- If you're still seeing a stain, mix equal parts white vinegar or lemon juice with warm water in a bowl. Soak a new cloth in the mixture and dab the stain with it, then rinse again with warm water.
- If the stain is still visible, repeat these steps until it fades.
- Once the stain is gone, allow shoe to air dry completely before wearing.
Tips and Tricks
- If stain is stubborn, use a brush, either alone or with detergent, to work it out.
- Always use clean tools and cloths on shoes to avoid spreading stain.
- If the area is still damp after you've wiped it, let it air dry before moving on.
- For best results, try to clean the stain as soon as possible.
