Use a soft cloth to blot away as much of the mayonnaise stain as possible. Make sure to be gentle and work in a circular motion.
In a bowl or cup, mix 5 parts water with 1 part liquid laundry detergent. Stir gently until the solution is combined.
Soak the cloth into the cleaning solution. Squeeze it gently and make sure the entire cloth is saturated.
Rub stained area with the wet cloth. Be sure to use circular motions and rub gently. Do not scrub or you may damage the fabric of the shoe.
Rinse the stained area with a clean damp cloth and cold water. This will help remove any remaining soap or detergent residue.
To tackle difficult stains, you can apply a paste made of either white vinegar and water or baking soda and water. Allow the paste to sit on the stain for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off.
Repeat steps 2-6 if necessary. If the stain is still present, try adding a bit more detergent to the cleaning solution. Once the stain is removed, let the shoes air dry or use a blow dryer on the low setting.
Mayonnaise stains on your Adidas shoes don't have to be a hassle. With just a few supplies and a bit of elbow grease, you can get those sneakers looking like new in no time.
