How To Easily Get Rid Of Mascara Stains On Versace

Things You'll Need
- Dishwashing detergent
- Cold water
- White vinegar
- Soft cloth
Step 1: Prep The Stain
Start by treating the stain as soon as possible. As soon as you notice the mascara stain, use a cloth or paper towel to lightly blot away any excess product from fabric. Don't rub the area as it can spread the stain and make it worse.
Step 2: Pre-Treat The Stain
In a separate bowl, mix one teaspoon of dishwashing detergent with two cups of cold water and stir until combined. Dip a clean cloth in the detergent mixture and dab it on the stain. Let the detergent sit for about five minutes so that it can penetrate the fabric and start to break down the mascara.
Step 3: Rinse With Cold Water
Once the pre-treating is done, rinse the fabric with cold water. Gently dab the area with a clean cloth to work the detergent into fabric and lift stain. Keep rinsing the fabric until the water runs clear and all the detergent is gone.
Step 4: Treat With White Vinegar
Once stain has been pre-treated and rinsed, apply white vinegar directly onto the stain. Use a cloth to gently rub it into the fabric. Allow vinegar to sit for a few minutes before you rinse the area again with cold water.
Step 5: Wash
Depending on the type of fabric and the care instructions, wash the garment in washing machine on the lowest temperature setting. For delicate fabrics, handwash the item instead. After it's been washed, check to see if the stain is completely gone.
Step 6: Repeat If Necessary
If the stain persists after the first wash, repeat steps 2 through 5 until stain is completely gone. If all else fails, you may need to use a stain remover specifically designed to tackle tough mascara stains.
