Tencel fabric is great for clothing because it is incredibly soft and breathable yet durable and strong. But like any other fabric, it can be prone to staining, especially when it comes to makeup products such as mascara.
The first step is to soak the stain in white vinegar. Start by filling a bowl with one part white vinegar and one part warm water. Place your garment in the bowl and let it soak for about 30 minutes. Make sure to keep checking to ensure the stain is being adequately treated.
Once the fabric has had enough time to soak in vinegar solution, take it out and gently rub some gentle detergent directly onto the stained area. Be careful not to rub too hard, as this could potentially damage the fabric. You can use an old toothbrush or a soft-bristled brush if needed.
After you’ve worked the detergent into the stain, rinse the fabric with warm water until detergent and the stain are gone. This process can take some time and multiple rinses of the area. Make sure to keep checking to ensure the stain is gone before continuing.
Once you’re satisfied that stain is removed, hang clothing item up to air dry. Do not put your item in a dryer or iron it before the stain is completely gone, as this may cause the stain to set and be more difficult to remove.
With this simple four-step process, you can easily remove mascara stains from your Tencel clothes and restore them to their former glory. Just remember to take extra care when dealing with delicate fabrics, and always double-check to make sure the stain is completely gone before drying or ironing.
