Mascara stains can be tough to remove from swimming pool liners. Like many cosmetics, mascara often contains oil-based ingredients that bond with the vinyl surface of pool liners, making it difficult to get rid of. Here are some tips to help you out:

  • First, scoop out any solids floating in the water or resting on the liner. This can help prevent stains from spreading.
  • Create a mixture of warm water and a mild detergent. Apply the solution to the affected areas using a soft cloth.
  • Let the solution sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off. You may also use a soft brush to scrub off the stain.
  • For tougher stains, mix equal parts vinegar and warm water. Soak a piece of a cloth in the mixture and rub the stained area gently. Rinse thoroughly afterward.
  • If you're still unable to get rid of stain, try using a solvent like rubbing alcohol. Apply it to a clean cloth and rub the area in circular motions for 15-20 seconds. Avoid scrubbing too hard to prevent damaging the liner.
  • If all else fails, seek the assistance of a professional pool cleaner.

You should also make it a habit to thoroughly wash off cosmetics before swimming in pool. This way, you can prevent mascara stains from forming and keep your pool clean.
