Mascara stains are stubborn and hard to remove. But don't worry, you don't have to throw away your suit or take it to the dry cleaners every time you need to get rid of mascara smudges. Here are the steps you should follow to clean the stains without damaging the fabric:
- Start by using a soft-bristled brush or a cloth to gently brush away any excess mascara.
- Now dampen a clean cloth with water and blot the stains. Make sure to work from the outside of the stain towards the center, so that it doesn't spread.
- If the stains remain, mix some gentle detergent or liquid dish soap with cold water and apply to the stained area using a cloth. Blot with a dry cloth to absorb the moisture.
- If stains still persist, try applying rubbing alcohol to affected area. Blot with a clean cloth to remove the alcohol.
- Finally, rinse area with cold water and let it dry naturally.
By following steps above, you should be able to get rid of all mascara stains on your suit. That being said, it is important to be gentle while cleaning stains, as harsh scrubbing can damage the fabric. In addition, always test the cleaning product on an inconspicuous part of the garment to make sure it won't cause any discoloration.
